Location
Oxford lies in the heart of the rolling hills of southwestern Ohio, minutes from dozens of outdoor trails and Hueston Woods State Park. We are home to Miami University, a liberal arts and research institution with top-ranked graduate and undergraduate programs, as well as Division One athletics.
Our location in southwestern Ohio places Oxford in the center of three major markets: Indianapolis (IN), Columbus (OH), and Cincinnati (OH). The region is also known for its ‘second-morning market’ where goods can be transported to 130 million people in a 600-mile radius. Oxford is also around five hours or less from Chicago, Louisville, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, and St. Louis.
Oxford is home to the Miami University Airport and within an hour's drive to both the Dayton International Airport and the Greater Cincinnati International Airport.
Within minutes, residents can reach the McCullough Hyde Memorial Hospital located at the center of Oxford. This fully accredited, non-profit facility is staffed by a physician around the clock, seven days a week. The City is also within an hour of major metropolitan hospitals and medical complexes throughout the Cincinnati-Dayton Metroplex.

Live, work, and play in our vibrant downtown, relaxing countryside, and lush greenery. Oxford cherishes its small-town feeling, even with all of our urban amenities. The country and the city are minutes apart - the average daily commute is just 15 minutes, 10 minutes less than the national average.
Outdoor recreation is a way of life here - we have Hueston Woods State Park which has a lake, boating, camping, hiking, picnicking facilities, and an 18 hole golf course within minutes of city limits. Plus, Oxford is surrounded by dozens of hiking trails. The City is currently funding a multi-million dollar area trails project that will loop around Oxford. We have eleven public parks, a dog park, an aquatic center, tennis courts, basketball courts, and lighted playing fields within the city. Miami University facilities are generally open to the public and include an indoor ice skating rink, indoor pools, and a riding stable. If that’s not enough recreation, you can check out the bowling alley or Indian Ridge Golf Club for an 18-hole course. Oxford’s cultural vitality is fueled by the Center of Performing Arts, the Miami University Art Museum, the Community Arts Center, seasonal events at the Uptown Park, and a thriving array of local restaurants and shops. Get your game face on during Miami University game days. Whether you cheer on the 2019 MAC Champion football team, the ice hockey team, or the nationally ranked figure skating team, you’ll be immersed in the college sports spirit.
